All middle and high schools will be staffed with Career Advisors. Career Advisors will meet with groups and individual students to ensure all students receive the minimum effective dosage for career management and self-advocacy.
Career Advisors and others involved in career advising will use RIASEC as common, aligned career language to help students easily map and understand options available to them at various decision points.
Career Advisors will use a shared set of questions to create a repeatable coaching dialogue.
Our Career Advisors, and other partners will share and clarify information about future demands of work, expectations, and career opportunities with students and their families.
Students will learn more about existing options through a continuum of work based learning experiences.
We'll provide supporting structures that continually engage students throughout their school experiences to strengthen their identity and develop lifelong career management skills.
We'll provide students with print materials, online resources, and approaches to do this.
We'll support classroom teachers with training, lesson plans, and strategies to easily integrate career competencies into everyday lessons.
Stipends and training will be provided for teacher leaders to prototype, integrate, and celebrate career connections to content areas.
We'll expand student opportunities like site- and off-site based models, and expand business engagements. The goal is for students to “experience” work opportunities including career exploration labs, internships, apprenticeships, industry chats, and other modes of career explorations.
